Courtyard was then introduced in 1983 to provide lodging and accommodation services for business travelers. They decided to create a new chain of hotels suited for those clients who are not satisfied or are looking for amenities that they do not have with their current hotel brands. This Marriott brand competes with other hotels in the same level and niche market, such as Hinton Garden Inn.ĭuring the early 1980s, Marriott has troubles in finding the right brands that will accommodate services for the family. A hotel brand under the Marriott Company, Courtyard by Marriott falls under the mid-range hotels category intended for business travelers as well as families on a holiday.
